Book Launch postponed- important news.

This is just a short blog post to explain that for reasons beyond my control I have reluctantly had to postpone the date for the book launch.

The new date is the first weekend in May 2017 with the official launch evening (ticket only) on Friday the 5th (timings to be confirmed) and then Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th open to the public from 10-3pm

In a nutshell the delay is due to the fact that firstly I wasn’t happy with the colours of the images in the proofs and consequently I have had to re-edit every single image of the 1500 individually. On top of that the binding of the books has been an issue to get the quality right. It now means that this element of production is having to be completed by hand, a very time consuming process. If I had gone along with the earlier date I would not have been happy with the book and would only perhaps have had very limited numbers to sell on the weekend. By delaying the event I will now have a book which I will be perfectly happy with and I will have a reasonable amount of stock for those of you expecting to come to the event in anticipation of purchasing a copy*.

Anyone who has up to this date pre-ordered and paid for a copy (or copies) and has paid for P&P but now can collect in person will have their P&P refunded on collection. Those who planned to collect on the earlier event date weekend but now can’t make the May weekend will have their book delivered free of charge at my expense. Please contact me if you fit into these two categories.

*Whilst I have been assured by the printers that I will have almost half of the 5000 edition on the launch weekend the complete order will not be delivered to me until mid May. I have been overwhelmed by the response to this book publication and I can only reiterate two things. Firstly, this is a one off print run of 5000 copies, there will not be a second print run, ever**. I want to make these books special, thats why each one is personally signed and numbered by me. Secondly, those people who in the past have either registered their interest with me about buying a copy did just that, it does not guarantee you a copy. The only way to ensure that you get a copy is to pre-order (information here) books are being allocated on a first come, first served basis. Due to the above reason about supply from the printers and logistics will plan to have a good supply of books at the official launch but as many of those copies are already earmarked for dispatch or collection at the event then they will obviously diminish the stock that we can take to the Kendal weekend. Pre-order now if you would like to get your book off the first batch or plan to come to the weekend, a book with your name on it will be awaiting collection (subject to availability).

** I still plan to produce the Special Edition of 214 copies. More information to be posted shortly but available numbers are limited.

Please email me if you have any questions.
